# Best Practices: Furniture Images and Videos in WizStudio

Furniture is one of the hardest product types for AI to get right. It has to look the right size in a room, and it often has small details such as legs, doors, drawers, wood grain, and hardware. Without clear instructions, the AI may add or remove legs, make a tabletop wider, lose the wood grain, or change the finish. The image may look beautiful but no longer match the product you sell.

This article explains how to prepare your furniture images, write prompts that keep your product accurate, and check your results before you download.

#### **Before You Begin**

- You must have access to WizStudio.
- Have your highest-resolution product image ready to upload.
- Keep verified product dimensions (L × W × H) on hand.

**Core principle:** Your product image is the **source of truth**. Use your prompt to describe the room, camera, lighting, and action around the furniture. Never let the AI redesign the furniture to get a look.

**Note:** Clear images and specific prompts reduce AI mistakes but do not remove them completely. Always compare the result with your original product image before you download.

---

### **A. Prepare Your Images**

Your product image and product details have the biggest impact on the result.

##### **1. Upload the clearest image you have**

- Use the highest-resolution original you have, with the product large and sharp. If you can't see a detail in your image, the AI probably can't either.
- Make the product fill the canvas. A product that fills the canvas keeps its details better than a small product in a large space.
- By default, WizStudio removes the background when you upload a product to the canvas. If your product is a light shade (for example, white, off-white, or beige) that may blend into a white background, turn on the **background toggle** on the canvas. This removes any background applied.

  ![backgroud toggle](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/hs-fs/hubfs/backgroud%20toggle.png?width=670&height=363&name=backgroud%20toggle.png)
- Avoid blurry screenshots and heavily compressed images. Wood grain, carvings, and hardware get lost or changed when they aren't clearly visible.
- Add close-ups that show the wood grain and how the piece is built. You can add them on the canvas as extra images: copy and paste the same image, then crop it and make it larger.
- Don't rely on the prompt alone. A prompt such as "use exact table" often isn't enough. Pair it with a clear reference image.

##### **2. Check the product category**

WizStudio detects the category when you upload. If it's wrong, change it from the **Category** dropdown before generating. You can also create your own category. Suggested scenes and category-specific results depend on it.

![category](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/hs-fs/hubfs/category.png?width=670&height=364&name=category.png)

##### **3. Enter accurate dimensions**

- Enter verified measurements as **Length × Width × Height** (for example, 10" L × 8" W × 4" H). For round products such as a round table, use **D** for diameter. You can switch between inches and centimeters.
- Repeat the key dimensions in your prompt.
- Don't leave the size for the AI to guess. Without dimensions, furniture can look too big or too small for the room.

  ![dimensions](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/hs-fs/hubfs/dimensions.png?width=670&height=364&name=dimensions.png)

##### **4. Place more than one piece**

- Treat the canvas as your vision board. Place each piece where you want it in the final image. For example, if you want a side table on the left of the sofa with a lamp on it, place them that way on the canvas. This helps the prompt work as you expect.
- Size each piece so it looks right next to the others. A bed should look bigger than a side table. It doesn't need to be exact, only in proportion.
- Enter dimensions for every piece. One missing dimension can throw off the size of the whole scene.

  ![canvas](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/hs-fs/hubfs/canvas.png?width=670&height=364&name=canvas.png)

**Note:** Dimensions guide the size but do not guarantee it. Check each result against something in the room with a known size, such as a doorway or table height.

---

### **B. Write Your Prompt**

For simple products, a short prompt plus **Enhance Scene** works well. For furniture with fine details or a specific material, write your prompt as a clear list of instructions, not a creative description.

**Describe things in this order**, from most to least important:

**what the product is → its shape → material, texture, and finish → color → size → setting → camera → lighting → props**

**Keep two kinds of instructions apart:**

- **Things that must not change:** shape, proportions, how it's built, number of parts, materials, finish, and hardware.
- **Things you can change freely:** room, camera, lighting, and props.

**Describe how the product is built.** Count the parts (legs, doors, drawers, shelves) and say exactly how many there are. Tell the AI not to add, remove, or redesign anything.

**Example (single-door cabinet):**

"Preserve its single-door construction, width-to-height ratio, base construction, hardware, and finish. Single door only: one continuous door panel, no center split, no second handle, no divider, no extra shelves. Do not redesign or improve it."

**Keep props separate from the product.** Describe the product and the props in separate parts of your prompt, so the AI doesn't treat a prop as part of the furniture.

"Add one ceramic vase, two neutral books, and a small branch arrangement beside the product. Do not attach, merge, or integrate any styling object into the product."

Use as few props as you can. Every extra object is another chance for size mistakes, hidden details, or changes to the product.

**Use images with clear roles.** WizStudio allows one reference image slot per generation. To show more angles or details, place them on the canvas and label each one in your prompt:

- **Image 1, product:** the exact product, shape, and proportions
- **Image 2, detail:** only the detail you name
- **Image 3, setting:** room, styling, and lighting only

Tell the AI not to mix product shapes between images, and say which image wins if they don't match. For more, see [How to Use Reference Images in WizStudio](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/how-to-use-reference-images-in-wizstudio).

---

### **C. Describe the Material**

A color such as "brown" isn't enough, because the AI may turn wood into plastic or laminate, or marble into concrete. Describe four things:

**Material → Texture → Finish → How it reflects light**

| **Describe** | **Use words like** | **Avoid** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Material** | natural walnut, brushed brass, boucle, polished marble | brown, gold, fabric, stone |
| **Texture** | open grain, fine weave, looped pile, natural pores | realistic texture, detailed |
| **Finish** | matte, satin, semi-gloss, high-gloss, polished, honed, powder-coated | premium finish |
| **How it reflects light** | soft diffuse highlights, controlled reflections, low reflectivity | beautiful lighting |

Copy and edit these examples for your product:

| **Material** | **Example prompt** |
| --- | --- |
| **Wood** | "Natural walnut with visible linear grain, warm medium-brown tone, subtle tonal variation, low-sheen satin finish. Preserve grain direction and natural pores. Highlights are broad and soft. Do not convert it into painted MDF, plastic, laminate, or glossy lacquer." |
| **Marble / Stone** | "Cream-beige marble with warm ivory, beige, champagne, and light-caramel veining; high-gloss polished surface. Preserve the actual vein direction. No grey, blue, concrete, terrazzo, or cool-white appearance." |
| **Upholstery** | "Warm cream boucle with dense looped fibers, tactile irregular pile, matte finish. Preserve cushion shape, seams, piping, and tension. Do not substitute velvet, leather, linen, or smooth synthetic fabric." |

---

### **D. Fix Common Errors**

If the same mistake keeps appearing, name that exact mistake in your prompt. This works better than asking the AI to "be accurate."

| **If this happens** | **Add this to your prompt** |
| --- | --- |
| Extra shelves appear | "No shelves except those visible in the reference." |
| Extra doors appear | "Single door only; one continuous door panel; no center split." |
| Holes are added or made bigger | "Keep only the small holes in the reference; do not add or enlarge openings." |
| Legs change shape | "Do not change the leg shape." |
| Wood looks like plastic | "Visible natural grain and pores; no plastic or laminate look." |
| Marble turns grey | "Warm cream-beige base tone; no grey, blue, or cool undertones." |
| Material changes | "Material is locked; do not substitute a similar-looking material." |
| Finish changes | "Finish is locked to \[matte / satin / polished / high-gloss\]." |
| Product is hidden by props or people | "Product stays unobstructed; props and people never cover key features." |

---

### **E. Example Prompts for Common Tasks**

###### **» Build a set from single pieces (for example, a sectional sofa)**

Upload the pieces to the canvas in the **Lifestyle Generator**, then use a prompt like:

"Create a cohesive L-shaped sectional using \[product names\]. No room or setting, just a clean white background."

###### **» Change one part of the product (for example, a bunk bed)**

Change only the part you need, and tell the AI to keep everything else the same.

"The top bed becomes the same width as the bottom bed, attached using exactly four wooden support pillars. No fifth pillar, metal brackets, or extra rails. Must look physically engineered and weight-bearing."

###### **» Remove or move parts (for example, adjustable shelves)**

"Remove only the specified shelves. Move the existing rod and original fixtures to the upper mounting position. Leave the former shelf areas open. Show only the small original mounting holes; no new or enlarged holes."

###### **» Show home furniture in an office or commercial space**

Describe the setting in your prompt (for example, "put this furniture in an office environment") and click **Enhance Scene**. You don't have to use the suggested scenes.

**Note:** Reclining and modular setups can't be put together automatically. There is no live configurator.

---

### **F. Camera Angles and Videos**

Use these prompts to pick the right shot for your furniture. For videos, tell the AI exactly what moves and what stays still, so the product doesn’t change from frame to frame.

| **Shot you want** | **Prompt language** |
| --- | --- |
| **Full product shot** | "Full product visible, three-quarter angle, eye-level camera, generous space around the product." |
| **Room shot** | "Wide interior shot where the product stays clearly visible and unobstructed." |
| **Material close-up** | "Tight close-up of the named surface; shallow depth of field; preserve exact texture." |
| **Moving shot (video)** | "Slow dolly or orbit with fixed product shape and constant scale." |

**For videos, tell the AI what moves and what stays still:**

"PRODUCT CONTINUITY LOCK: Product stays identical from first to last frame, with exact geometry, dimensions, materials, textures, finish, hardware, and surface patterns. CAMERA: slow, controlled 60° clockwise orbit at constant height and distance. PRODUCT: stationary. LIGHTING: stable. BACKGROUND: stable except natural depth-of-field movement. ONLY CHANGE: \[action\]. No morphing, sudden zoom, new parts, disappearing parts, or material change."

**Video tips →**

- Add your lifestyle image as the first media reference so the video starts from an existing scene. Add the product silo as a reference too.
- Use the **Script Assistant** to plan and change shots instead of editing the script text directly. It splits the video into short shots, which reduces mistakes. Long single shots tend to drift away from the product.
- Describe camera moves to the **Script Assistant** shot by shot (for example, a wide pan around the room first, then close-ups of the product).
- Add people or action last. People can block parts of the product or change its shape.

### **G. Prompt Template**

**Copy this template and fill in the brackets. Remove any line you don't need.**

**ROLE:** Act as an experienced commercial product photographer/cinematographer specializing in premium interiors.

**REFERENCE:** Use the supplied image(s) as the source of truth.

**OBJECTIVE:** Create \[IMAGE / VIDEO\] of the exact product in \[SCENE\].

**PRODUCT FIDELITY (ABSOLUTE PRIORITY):** Preserve exact silhouette, proportions, construction, component count, materials, texture, finish, color, hardware, labels, and fine details.

**MATERIAL LOCK:** Material = \[specific material\]. Texture = \[grain / weave / ribbing / pile\]. Finish = \[matte / satin / polished / high-gloss\]. Light response = \[diffuse / specular / translucent\]. Do not substitute or reinterpret the material.

**SCENE:** \[room / background / architecture\]

**STYLING:** \[only requested props\]

**COMPOSITION:** \[placement / scale / visibility\]

**CAMERA:** \[shot / angle / height / lens / movement\]

**LIGHTING:** \[direction / softness / contrast\]

**ACTION (VIDEO ONLY):** \[exact movement\]

**NEGATIVE CONSTRAINTS:** No extra components, no redesign, no material substitution, no invented hardware, no altered proportions, no incorrect labels, no unwanted props.

**OUTPUT:** Photorealistic, physically plausible, commercially polished, accurate scale, believable contact shadows.

### **H. Tools That Help**

These WizStudio features help you create, fix, and reuse furniture images faster. Pick the one that fits what you need to do.

| **Tool** | **How to use it for furniture** |
| --- | --- |
| **Lifestyle Generator** | Check the category, add dimensions, start with a suggested scene or **Enhance Scene**, review all the results, and save strong ones as Themes. |
| **AI Edit / Prompt-Based Editing** | To fix one thing (for example, "don't change the legs" or remove a prop), edit the image instead of re-prompting the whole scene. Re-prompting can change things you wanted to keep. See [Prompt-Based Image Editing](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/prompt-based-image-editing). |
| **Variant Builder** | Show the same piece in other fabrics or colors. Upload one base silo plus fabric/material swatches or Pantone hex codes. Each swatch creates 3 variants, up to 15 swatches per image. Write a specific prompt, such as "apply to seat of chair." You can't add a swatch to an existing batch. See [Variant Builder](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/variant-builder). |
| **Dimension Lines** | Check measurements against your product details before downloading. Build reusable templates per category and apply them in bulk. |
| **Reference Images & Themes** | Use **Use Exact Background** when all products need the same room, and **Use as Style Inspiration** for a similar feel with more variety. Save strong images as Themes and reuse them across SKUs. |
| **Multi-Product Staging** | Size each piece in proportion on the canvas, enter dimensions for every item, and fill the canvas. See [Generate Lifestyle Images with Multiple Products](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/generate-lifestyle-images-with-multiple-products). |
| **Bulk Lifestyle** | Set the scene, camera angle, and look on one product, then apply it to up to 50 products. Works best on similar products. See [Bulk Lifestyle](https://knowledge.wizcommerce.com/bulk-lifestyle). |

### **I. Workflow and Final Check**

**Recommended workflow →**

1. Start with the clearest image. Important shapes and details should be visible.
2. Describe how the product is built. Count the parts.
3. Describe the material: material, texture, finish, and how it reflects light.
4. Test with a simple scene first. Make sure the product stays accurate before adding props.
5. If the same mistake repeats, name it in your prompt.
6. Add camera and lighting instructions.
7. Add people or action last.
8. For videos, say exactly what moves and what stays still.
9. Check the result against the list below before you download.

**Before you download, check that:**

- The shape and proportions match the original
- The number of legs, doors, drawers, shelves, pillars, and handles matches
- No parts were added
- Material, texture (grain, weave, pile, pores), and finish (matte, satin, polished, honed) are correct
- Color and undertones are accurate
- The furniture looks the right size for the room
- The camera angle doesn't stretch or squash the product
- Reflections don't show objects that aren't there
- Shadows and the points where the furniture touches the floor look natural
- In videos, the product stays the same in every frame and only the requested things move
- Props support the product and don't hide it

Pay extra attention to joints, repeating patterns, furniture legs, and shiny surfaces. Download in 4K or 8K for print, and check again after every edit.

**Still getting the wrong result?** If a product keeps coming out wrong after several tries, share the SKU or generation link with your Customer Success Manager. The WizStudio stylist team can review your prompt and product details, and for bulk or complex jobs, the Done-For-You team can create images for you to review in the platform.

#### **FAQs**

**1. Why did WizStudio change the legs or add parts to my furniture?**

**A.** This usually happens when those details aren't clearly visible in your image, so the AI fills them in on its own. Upload a sharper image or add a close-up on the canvas, enter dimensions, and name the exact change in your prompt (see Section D). WizStudio also gives you more than one result, so you can pick the most accurate one.

**2. Why did the logo or text on my product change?**

**A.** Tell the AI not to change the design, and write the exact logo text in quotes. For example: "Do not redesign or alter the existing design of the product in the input image. Logo text: "\[your logo text\]"."

**3. Do I have to enter dimensions?**

**A.** No, but it's strongly recommended. Without dimensions, the AI guesses the size. See Section A, step 3.

**4. Can I place home furniture in an office or commercial setting?**

**A.** Yes. See the example in Section E.

**5. My lifestyle images all look similar. How do I get more variety?**

**A.** Describe the room in more detail, including style, era, architecture, and mood, not only the room type. You can also use **Use as Style Inspiration** with a different reference image for each product to get a similar feel with more variety.

**6. Should I re-prompt or edit when only one thing is wrong?**

**A.** Edit. Use AI Edit or **Resize & Move** with **Re-blend** to change one thing. AI Edit keeps the rest of the image the same, while re-prompting the whole scene can change things you wanted to keep.
