  6. You cannot remove individual products once catalog generation has started. Please remove any unwanted items before creating the catalog. To remove, click the “x” icon next to the product card.

C. When to Use Cart vs. Catalog

Carts and catalogs both start from product selection, but they serve different purposes. A catalog is a shareable presentation of products for the customer to browse, while a cart is a working order the rep builds toward a quote or order. Use the guide below to decide which one fits the situation.

If the goal is to… Use Why
Show a customer a curated range of products to browse Catalog Generates a professional PDF with a chosen layout (1, 2, 4, or 8 products per page) that can be shared or printed
Present products without committing to quantities or an order Catalog Captures the product selection only, not order intent, pricing and inventory can be toggled on or off
Reuse the same product selection across multiple customers Catalog Stored under Sales > Catalogs and can be downloaded, managed, or shared at any time
Build an actual order for a specific customer Cart Holds products with quantities and is tied to a customer, ready to convert into a quote or order
Add quantities, custom line items, or off-catalog products Cart Supports per-line quantities and custom line items for items not yet in the catalog
Move a selection toward checkout Cart Serves as the working order that becomes a quote or order at submission

Rule of thumb: Reach for a catalog when the customer needs something to look at, and a cart when the rep is ready to build the order.

Note: A catalog and a cart are not mutually exclusive. A rep can share a catalog for browsing, then build a cart from the products the customer selects.

FAQs

1. Can I add only selected products from a wishlist to a cart, rather than the entire wishlist?

A. Yes. Open the wishlist, check the products you want to include, and click Add to Cart. Only the selected products will be added to your active cart.

2. Can I edit the catalog after generating it from a wishlist?

A.  Yes. Once the catalog is generated, go to Sales → Catalogs, find the catalog, and click Edit from the three-dot menu to add or remove products and update settings.

3. Does converting a wishlist to a cart or catalog remove the wishlist?

A. No. Converting a wishlist to a cart or catalog does not delete the wishlist. The products remain saved in the wishlist and can be used again at any time.
