If the iPad loses connection mid-order, is the order lost?

No. The Sales Rep App (WizOrder) is designed to work fully offline. As long as you have completed at least one sync before going offline and Offline Mode is enabled, anything you do on the device (like adding products to the cart, applying discounts, creating a new customer, submitting an order or quote) is saved locally on the device and queued to sync (except cart) the moment you reconnect. You will not need to re-enter any of it.

» What happens behind the scenes

  • Line items, quantities, pricing, line-item and cart-level discounts, customer selections, and notes are all captured on the device exactly as you entered them.
  • When you click Create Order or Create a Quote, the order is submitted into a local queue on the iPad. It is not lost if you close or restart the app.
  • Click Go Online (upper right corner) to sync data (offline to online). The order then appears in the Orders tab with a Confirmed status. To sync the order into the ERP instantly, open the order confirmation page and click Sync Now — or you can wait until the next ERP sync cycle.

» How to confirm the order synced

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi or a strong cellular signal (Internet).
  2. Open WizOrder app.
  3. Click Go Online (upper right corner).
  4. Then go to the Orders tab.
  5. Find the order — it should show Confirmed. If it's still pending, stay connected and keep the app open until it flips to Confirmed.

» If the order is still not showing as Confirmed

  • Make sure the device actually has working internet. Open a webpage to test, Wi-Fi can show as connected but be captive-portal blocked at trade show venues.
  • Check that Offline Mode and Incremental Sync were both enabled on the device.
  • If the order still doesn't sync after a few minutes on a verified-working connection, contact help@wizcommerce.com with the customer name, approximate time of order, and the device used.

Note: Do not delete the app or sign out, that is where the queued data is held.

» Things to keep in mind

  • Payments are different from orders. Card payments cannot be collected offline because they require a Internet connection. The order itself will sync, but you will need to collect the card payment once you are back online.
  • Inventory at the time of the offline order reflects the last sync, not real-time stock. For high-demand SKUs, verify availability once you reconnect before committing to delivery timelines.
