My QuickBooks Web Connector is stuck and not syncing - how do I fix it?
If you open your computer and the Web Connector is frozen at a fixed percentage (like 79%), it means the previous sync didn't complete cleanly. This can happen after a system restart overnight, a network interruption, or a QuickBooks file rebuild. It looks alarming but it's straightforward to fix.
» How to fix it
- Close the QuickBooks Web Connector completely
- Close QuickBooks Desktop completely, make sure no QuickBooks windows are left open in the background
- Reopen QuickBooks Desktop first and wait for it to fully load with your company file
- Then reopen the Web Connector by going to File → App Management → Update Web Services from the QuickBooks top menu
- Check that Auto-Run is enabled for the WizCommerce entry
- The sync will restart automatically from the beginning
Once it starts running again, the pending orders will push through on their own.
Tip: After the sync completes successfully, click Hide in the bottom-right corner of the Web Connector, don't close it. Hiding it keeps it running in the background where it needs to be.

Work through these checks one by one:
1. Make sure only one version of QuickBooks is installed on your computer
A. Having multiple versions of QuickBooks Desktop installed can cause the Web Connector to crash during syncing if the Web Connector ever crashed while syncing, this is almost certainly the reason. Check your Windows programs list and uninstall any older versions you no longer use.
2. Check if QuickBooks pop-up dialogs are interrupting the sync
A. When QuickBooks Desktop displays a pop-up dialog , such as reminders, alerts, or update prompts, the Web Connector will pause syncing until you close the dialog. If you see any pop-ups on screen when you come in, close them first and then check if the sync resumes.
3. Check that Auto-Run isn't set to run too frequently
A. If the Auto-Run interval is set too low, for example, 15 minutes or less, the Web Connector may not have enough time to finish the previous sync before starting the next one. If you've manually changed this setting, set it back to the default.
4. Try deleting the Web Connector log file
A. Over time the log file can become corrupted and cause the Web Connector to behave unpredictably. Contact our Support Team and we can walk you through clearing it, it takes just a couple of minutes and often resolves persistent stuck syncs.
5. Restart your computer
A. As a last resort, restarting your computer can resolve hidden issues with the Web Connector and other background processes. After restarting, open QuickBooks Desktop first, then let the Web Connector launch and try syncing again.
» Tips to avoid this in the future
- Keep QuickBooks Desktop open with your company file loaded for the fastest and most reliable sync experience, closing QuickBooks completely is the most common cause of sync errors.
- If you need to leave for the day without keeping QuickBooks fully open, you can leave it at the "No Company Open" screen, the Web Connector will still be able to connect
- Never close the Web Connector window, use Hide instead so it continues running in the background
