Promote Discounted Products in WizOrder
This article covers how to plan your campaign product list, create product segment, set up product discount, and create and publish a promoted wishlist for those same products, so a price change becomes a visible campaign instead of a quiet one.
Platform: WizOrder & WizShop | Who is this for: Admins
To get there: Discount Engine → Product Segment → Product Discount → Publish Wishlist
Table of Contents
Before You Begin
- You must have access of Discount Engine in the WizOrder (web portal).
- Decide your product list first, the same list drives both the discount and the wishlist.
- To publish a wishlist as promoted products, you must be in Guest Mode, customer-specific wishlists can't be promoted.
- Product segments and wishlists can't be edited after creation the way a draft can, plan the list before you build.
A. Plan the Product List Once
Everything downstream reuses the same set of products, so pin down the list before you touch the Discount Engine.
- Decide which products the campaign covers — a collection, a category, a clearance group, or a hand-picked set.
- Note the product Name and SKU ID for each item. You will use these both to build the discount's product segment and to find the products when you build the wishlist.
Note: In the Discount Engine, you can click Download All Products (template) to export your full catalog as a CSV, then trim it to just your campaign SKUs.
B. Create Product Segment
Create a Product Segment for your campaign SKUs, this defines which products the discount will apply to.
»» For a detailed walkthrough, refer to How to Create a Product Segment.
- Go to Discount Engine → Product Segment.

- Click Create Segment.

- Enter the Segment Name and a Reference ID (a unique alphanumeric code to track the segment).

- Choose whether the discount applies when a customer meets Any or All of the defined conditions.

- Under Include Products, click + Add Condition and define which products belong to this segment.

- Under Exclude Products, use the same logic to exclude specific products from the segment. Any product that matches an exclude condition will be left out of the segment, even if it also matches an include condition.

- Once all the details are filled in, click Create to save the product segment.

C. Set Up Product Discount
Once your product segment is ready, create a Product Discount and attach the segment to it to apply the discount to the defined products.
»» For a detailed walkthrough, refer to How to Set Up Product Discount.
- Go to Discount Engine → Discounts.

- Click Create Discount.

- Select Product Discount.

- Fill in the Basic Details.
- Fill in the Promotion code details.
- Set the Application parameter to either Automatic or Promotion Code.
- Automatic: The discount applies automatically when conditions are met. No buyer action required.
- Promotion Code: The buyer or rep must manually enter a promo code at checkout.

- Under Channel, tick the platforms the discount should run on — WizOrder, WizShop, or both.
- Under the Eligibility section, define who the discount applies to and which products it covers.

- Configure the discount. Choose whether the discount is Percentage-based or Dollar-based.
- Set the Discount Restriction - minimum requirement for the discount to apply.
- Set the usage limit under Campaign Limit.

- Set the Discount Period, the start and end dates during which the discount will be live. For example, a Black Friday campaign might run for the week leading up to Black Friday.

- Click Publish once all the details are filled in.

D. Build a Matching Wishlist
Recreate the same product list as a wishlist. You add the products directly from the product catalog.
- Go to Products page.

- Click the Order Mode toggle to switch to Select Mode.

- Tick the checkbox on each campaign product (use your Name/SKU reference sheet from Section A to find them).

- Click the arrow next to the green button and choose Add to Wishlist.

- Select an existing wishlist or click + Wishlist, name it for the campaign (e.g. Summer Sale 2026), and click Done.

»» For a detailed walkthrough, refer to How to Create and Promote a Wishlist.
E. Publish the Wishlist as Promoted Products
Publishing surfaces the wishlist products at the top of the catalog on WizOrder.
- Make sure you are in Guest Mode. Only guest-mode wishlists can be promoted.

- Go to Sales and open the Wishlist page (web portal).

-
Find your campaign wishlist, click the three-dot menu, and select Publish.

- The Promoted column switches to Yes.

- The Promoted Products section now appears on the Products listing page.

Note: When the campaign ends, open the same three-dot menu and click Unpublish. This only removes the spotlight, the wishlist and its products stay saved, and the discount is stopped separately from the Discount Engine.
F. Keep the Discount and Wishlist Aligned
The discount and the wishlist are independent, so a product added to one is not automatically added to the other. Keep them in sync:
- Build both from the same Name/SKU list so buyers see the discount on exactly the products you are featuring.
- If you add or drop products mid-campaign, update both the product segment (create a new segment — segments can't be edited) and the wishlist.
- Stop the discount and unpublish the wishlist on the same date so nothing lingers as "featured" without its price cut.
FAQs
1. Can I run more than one promoted wishlist at the same time?
A. Yes. If you publish multiple wishlists, each one appears as a separate tab in the Promoted Products section, with its own set of products. It is useful if you are running more than one campaign at once, e.g. a clearance tab alongside a new-arrivals tab.
2. Can I rename the "Promoted Products" heading buyers and reps see?
A. No. The Promoted Products heading is set globally across all WizCommerce accounts and can't be customized. You can still name the underlying wishlist itself anything you like (e.g. "Summer Sale 2026") for your own reference.
3. Can I bulk-add products to a wishlist from a spreadsheet, the way I can with a product segment?
A. No. There's no CSV or bulk import into a wishlist. You add products from the catalog in Select Mode, using filters to narrow the list and then selecting them — which is why building your Name/SKU reference sheet in Section A first makes this step faster.
4. Does publishing a wishlist as promoted products affect a specific customer's own wishlist?
A. No. Publishing only promotes wishlists created under My Wishlist in Guest Mode. Wishlists created for a specific customer are private to that customer and can't be published as promoted products.
