We reactivated a customer in QuickBooks - will they automatically show up in WizCommerce after the next sync?
Yes, in most cases a customer reactivated in QuickBooks Desktop will reappear in WizCommerce automatically once the next sync runs. You don't need to manually re-enter the customer, just reactivate them in QuickBooks and wait for the sync to pick them up.
» What to do
Step 1: Reactivate the customer in QuickBooks Desktop
- Open QuickBooks Desktop and find the inactive customer
- Reactivate them by editing the customer record and marking them as Active
- Make sure all required fields are filled in correctly before saving
Step 2: Wait for the next sync cycle
-
Syncs between QuickBooks and WizCommerce run on a schedule — typically every 2 hours, though this varies by account.
-
Once the sync runs, the reactivated customer should appear in WizCommerce automatically.
Not sure how often your account syncs? Contact your Customer Success Manager and they'll confirm your specific sync frequency.
Step 3: Assign website access if needed
-
Once the customer reappears in WizCommerce, you can proceed to set up their website user access or registration as needed.
» Important things to know
Don't try to manually push the customer before the sync runs If the customer hasn't appeared in WizCommerce yet, there's nothing to update on the WizCommerce side. The sync needs to bring them over first — attempting to manually push data for a customer that doesn't exist in WizCommerce yet won't work.
If the customer doesn't appear after the next sync Email help@wizcommerce.com with the customer name and ID and our team will investigate. It may be a sync configuration issue or the customer record may need attention in QuickBooks before it can sync correctly.
» Tips to avoid delays
- Reactivate the customer in QuickBooks well before you need them in WizCommerce — don't wait until a sales rep is mid-call trying to place an order
- After reactivation, double-check that the customer's record in QuickBooks is complete and active — incomplete records can be skipped during sync
- Keep the Web Connector running so syncs run on schedule without interruption
