What if the PO only has a description or a buyer's part number - no SKU?
Ella handles both scenarios without the rep having to manually search the catalog.
- Description Only: Ella parses the description, searches your inventory, and returns the closest matches.
- Buyer's Internal Part Number: Ella maps it against the customer-part-number cross-reference configured for that buyer.
In both cases, every match comes with a confidence score and the closest alternate products are surfaced alongside LLM suggestions, so the rep can pick the right one with one click.
» How to read the confidence score
Each matched line displays a colour-coded confidence score:
- High Confidence: Ella is certain of the match. The line is ready to submit.
- Medium Confidence: Ella has a strong candidate but flags it for a quick rep check before submission.
- Low Confidence: Ella is uncertain. The rep should hover over the line to highlight exactly where on the source PO the value was pulled from, then verify against the original document before accepting the match.
The confidence score is the rep's safety net. It tells you when to trust Ella and when to double-check, without requiring the rep to manually review every line on every order.
» Things to keep in mind
- The customer-part-number cross-reference is set up during onboarding for buyers who consistently use their own internal part numbers. The more orders Ella processes from a buyer, the sharper the mapping gets.
- If a line comes in with a very unusual description and low confidence, the rep can always override with the correct SKU manually and submit. The override is logged on the order.
