Why am I getting an import error when trying to delete categories?
This usually happens because the exported file contains "nan" values in the Priority column. "nan" (not a number) is invalid and causes the import to fail. Clean up the file first, then re-import.
» Steps to delete categories without errors
- In WizOrder, go to Manage → Import and Export, click the Collection tile, then click Export. The export file can be downloaded from the notifications bell (top right corner).
- Open the downloaded Excel file and go to the Data Sheet tab.
- Find the Priority column and replace any nan values with a valid number, use 0 or 1 if you are unsure.
- Find the Image URL column, if there is no image, leave the cell blank. Do not leave "nan" in this field either.
- In the Delete? column, enter Delete for each category you want to remove.
- Save the file. Go back to Manage → Import/Export → Collection → Import and upload the updated file.
- Verify, and check the notifications panel (bell icon, top right) to confirm the import completed successfully.
Tip: For more on managing categories, see Manage Categories and Collections in the WizCommerce Help Centre.
» A few things worth knowing:
- "nan" is an invalid value, always replace it with a number or leave the field blank before importing.
- Check all columns before re-importing to make sure no other invalid data remains.
- To undo a deletion, re-import the category without the Delete entry in the Delete? column.
