Why does WizCommerce work in Incognito mode but not in my normal browser?
If WizCommerce works fine in an Incognito/Private window but you are running into issues in your regular browser window — such as actions not going through, pages not loading correctly, or unexpected errors — this is usually caused by stale or corrupted site data stored in your normal browser session, not an issue with your account or the WizCommerce platform.
» Why is this happening?
Incognito/Private windows always start with a clean session; no cached files, cookies, or stored site data. Your regular browser window, on the other hand, keeps this data around to speed up future visits.
If that stored data for WizCommerce becomes outdated or corrupted, it can interfere with how the application behaves, even though your account and permissions are working correctly. Since the issue disappears in Incognito mode, this confirms the problem is tied to the browser session, not the platform.
» How do I fix it?
Clearing the site-specific data for WizCommerce in your regular browser will refresh the session and should resolve the issue.
- Open the WizCommerce application in your normal browser.
- Click the lock/settings icon next to the website URL in the address bar.
- Open Site settings.
- Select Delete data (or Clear data) for the WizCommerce site.
- Close all open WizCommerce tabs.
- Reopen the browser and log in to WizCommerce again.
- Try the action again in your normal browser.
» When should I contact Support?
Please get in touch if:
- The issue continues after clearing site data and logging back in.
- You are not able to locate the site settings or clear data option in your browser.
- The issue starts happening again shortly after following these steps.
» Things to keep in mind
- Clearing site data will log you out of WizCommerce and remove any saved preferences for the site, so you will need to log in again.
- This does not affect any orders, customer data, or records stored in WizCommerce. It only clears local browser data.
- This behavior can show up on any action within WizCommerce, from browsing the catalog to updating customer records, since it's tied to the browser session rather than a specific feature.
