Will Ella pull bill-to/ship-to from the customer database or just the PO?

Ella matches the PO against your customer database. When the customer is found, Ella shows both the address extracted from the PO and the customer's saved addresses (for both bill-to and ship-to) and the rep picks which to use. If you would prefer to skip that step, a default address per customer can be set during onboarding so Ella always uses it automatically.

» How parent-child accounts work

For organisations with parent–child account structures (one parent with multiple child customers - for example, a retail chain with individual store locations), Ella doesn't just match to the parent. Ella uses extra signals from the shipping address to identify the correct child customer:

  • Zip Code: Narrows the match to the right location
  • Store Code: If present on the PO, mapped directly to the child account
  • Landmark or Address Detail: Used as a tie-breaker when zip code alone isn't enough

Once the correct child customer is identified, the order is mapped to that account automatically. The rep sees the resolved customer on the draft and can correct it before submitting if needed.

» Things to keep in mind

  • If Ella cannot confidently match the shipping address to a child customer, she flags it on the draft rather than guessing. The rep can then select the correct account manually.
  • Default address preferences and parent–child mapping rules are configured during onboarding. Reach out to your implementation contact if you need to update them after go-live.
