Set Up and Use Linked (Parent-Child) Accounts
If you manage a parent company with multiple child locations, Linked Accounts brings all of their orders, invoices, and activity into one connected view, instead of tracking each account separately.
This article covers how the parent-child linkage works across WizOrder, Analytics, and WizShop, and how buyers switch between linked accounts on the storefront.
Platform: WizOrder & WizShop | Who is this for: Admins & Buyers
Before You Begin
- Linked Accounts must be enabled on your tenant by the Implementation team. This isn't a self-serve toggle.
- Parent and child accounts must already exist and be explicitly linked before rollup or switching will work.
- You will need admin access to create parent-child links and map user access to each child account from the Admin Dashboard.
- Buyers only see the child accounts they have been explicitly mapped to, access isn't automatic just because accounts are linked.
- Each child account keeps its own isolated cart, even once linked — rollup only affects viewing, not cart behavior.
A. What are Linked Accounts?
Linked Accounts creates a parent-child hierarchy between customer accounts, so a parent account's orders, invoices, carts, wishlists, and claims roll up onto one view. Previously, parent and child accounts were shown separately, with no way to move between them. Now, every linked account carries a visible connection to the others, and you can move from a parent to its children — and back — from wherever you are working.
This is available in WizOrder, Analytics, and on your WizShop storefront.
Note: Each child account's cart stays isolated even though its activity rolls up to the parent for viewing.
B. Navigate Between Parent & Child in WizOrder
On a parent customer's profile in WizOrder, you will see its linked children listed directly on the page.
- Go to CRM → Customers.

- Open the parent customer's profile.

- Click Linked Children to see the linked children listed on the page.

- Select a child account to open its profile.
- From the child account's profile, select the Linked Parent to move back.

Tip: You can move between a parent and any of its children in either direction; from the parent to a linked child, or from a child back to its parent.
C. Filter by Parent or Child in Analytics
Analytics also reflects the parent-child linkage, so you can view performance at whichever level you need.
- Open Analytics.

- Use the filters to choose Parent or Child.
- If a parent has multiple children, filter down to a specific child's numbers, or view combined totals across the parent and all of its children.
- This lets you check a single child's analytics, the parent's own numbers, or the rolled-up view across the full account family.

D. Linked Accounts on WizShop
On your WizShop storefront, linkage shows up in the Orders, Quotes, and Wishlist tab.
» Orders/Quotes Tab
- Go to Profile → Account Dashboard.

- Open the Orders tab.

- Switch to the parent account.

- View orders from both the parent and its linked children in one list.
- Each order also shows who placed it. A bracketed tag next to Placed By identifies whether the order was placed by the account itself, a sales rep, or another website user; so you always know who placed the order, converted it, or holds the invoice.

» Wishlist
Wishlist gives you a consolidated view across variants and linked child accounts, so you can see saved items across the whole account family in one place; not just for the account you are currently on.

E. Set Up Linked Accounts
Linked Accounts is enabled per tenant and requires a short setup before it's available to buyers and admins.
- The Implementation team enables Linked Accounts on your tenant using a backend toggle.
- In the Admin Dashboard, an admin creates the parent-child links and maps which users can access each child account.
- Buyers who are mapped to multiple accounts automatically see the storefront switcher once setup is complete.
Note: A user only sees the child accounts they have been explicitly mapped to.
FAQs
1. Will my cart stay separate for each child account even though everything rolls up to the parent?
A. Yes. Rolling up orders, invoices, and other activity to the parent is a viewing convenience. Each child account keeps its own isolated cart.
2. Can I tell who actually placed an order if I am viewing it from the parent account?
A. Yes. Each order shows a bracketed tag next to Placed By, identifying whether it was placed by the account itself, a sales rep, or another website user.
3. Can I enable Linked Accounts myself, or does it need to go through Implementation?
A. Linked Accounts requires the Implementation team to enable the tenant-level toggle. Once that's done, an admin can create the parent-child links and map user access from the Admin Dashboard.
