What should I do at the end of each day at a trade show?
A few minutes of housekeeping at the end of each show day prevents issues the next morning, like an order that never reached your ERP, or a device that won't turn on at the booth.
Run through this short list before you leave for the day.
» End-of-day checklist
- Reconnect to Wi-Fi or strong cellular signal. As soon as connectivity is restored, WizOrder syncs automatically (assuming Incremental Sync is on). New customers created offline push to the customer database, orders push to your ERP (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Business Central, or Epicor), confirmation emails go out, and updated inventory and pricing pull back into the app.
- Confirm orders are syncing. Open the Orders tab and check that the day's orders show a Confirmed status. Anything still stuck on-device usually means the connection dropped before the queue cleared — keep the app open on a stable connection until everything moves to Confirmed.
- Spot-check the day's totals. Quickly scan the day's orders to make sure quantities, line-item discounts, and customer assignments look right. Catching a typo today is much easier than tracing it back next week.
- Review scanned leads (if you used badge scanning). Open More > Trade Fair Visitors and confirm scanned contacts are showing up. Reps mapped by territory are notified automatically; you can also click Notify Rep manually from a lead's detail page if needed.
- Charge every device. iPads, phones, power banks, and any Bluetooth scanners you used.
- Leave the app open while you wait. If you have anything still in the offline queue, keep the device on and connected until the sync finishes. Closing the app is fine (queued orders are saved on the device and won't be lost), but the easiest way to be sure is to watch them flip to Confirmed.
» Things to keep in mind
- Payments are not processed offline. If you took a card at the booth, the order will sync, but the payment itself can only be collected once you are back online.
- Inventory shown offline reflects the last sync. If a high-demand SKU may have moved, double-check stock once you are online before promising delivery dates.
- Any data saved during the trade show is stored locally on the user's device and will not be visible to the admin until it has been synced to the ERP.
