Why are assembly items not showing the correct inventory after a NetSuite sync?

If an assembly item is showing zero or incorrect availability in WizCommerce after a sync, it may be because inventory data for assembly items does not always update the same way as standard inventory items — and the mismatch may not be immediately noticeable.


» How NetSuite inventory sync works

Inventory syncs from NetSuite to WizCommerce once a day on a scheduled basis. Any changes made in NetSuite will reflect in WizCommerce depending on when those changes were made.

If the changes are made before the scheduled sync cycle, they will be picked up and reflected in WizCommerce in the same cycle. However, if the changes are made after the scheduled sync cycle, they will only appear in WizCommerce in the next scheduled sync cycle.


» Why assembly items can behave differently

Assembly items in NetSuite are a special product type. Their available quantity is calculated based on the stock of their component parts, rather than a standalone inventory figure. This means the assemblable quantity shown in WizCommerce may not match what you expect if component stock has changed since the last sync.

In some cases, assembly item inventory may not update correctly even after the daily sync has run. If you are seeing this, contact help@wizcommerce.com with the affected item name and SKU. The team will investigate the sync behaviour for that item and run a manual sync if needed.


» What to do if assembly item inventory looks wrong

  1. First, confirm when inventory was last updated in NetSuite. If it was updated today, wait for the next daily sync before checking again in WizCommerce.
  2. If the daily sync has already run and the inventory still looks wrong, contact help@wizcommerce.com with:
    • The item name and NetSuite Internal ID or SKU
    • The quantity showing in NetSuite vs what is showing in WizCommerce
    • The date and approximate time the last sync ran (if known)

The support team will review the sync log for that item and resolve the discrepancy.


» Things to keep in mind

  • Inventory syncs from NetSuite to WizCommerce once a day. Real-time stock changes in NetSuite will not appear in WizCommerce until the next scheduled sync.
  • Do not manually adjust inventory for assembly items in WizCommerce if your account is integrated with NetSuite . Any manual changes will be overwritten at the next sync.
  • If assembly item inventory is consistently incorrect across multiple syncs, this is a signal to contact support rather than investigate in NetSuite directly.
